Semi Driver Steals $991 Worth Of Fuel

Semi Driver Steals $991 Worth Of Fuel

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Friday marked another day with another record for gas prices.
The national average for a gallon of unleaded gas increased overnight to $3.78 a gallon.
Pump prices around Central Ohio are above average at $3.89. As the prices rise, are gas-related crimes increasing as well?

On Wednesday, a semi-truck driver pumped $991.65 worth of diesel fuel into his truck and took off, according to Columbus police.

PUMP PATROL: What Prices Are You Seeing?
Pilot's corporate office said gas drive-offs are becoming more common as the gas prices rise.

The problem has become so bad at some diesel centers that they've gone to prepay pumps. Every driver must pre-pay -- just like most gas stations for non-truck drivers.
Pilot officials said they will likely put diesel pre-pay pumps at every center by July 2008.
Officials said they can't risk more drive-offs, and other travel centers said that those crimes can increase the price of gas for more drivers.

Mine shut off at $49.50. I asked the attendent what the heck was going on (since i had deposited 6k 3 days before that) and he said if you do debit...that it is some deal that Visa and Kroger have together. HUH? I thought I got to decide how much I spend!

I stopped at a T/A in CT last week to fill up. I paid with cash and the attendant made me pre-pay I said it will be over $1000, (twin 150's) and she said she couldn't put more than $999 in at a time. So I had to do it twice. Ended up being around $1075. I told her with prices going the way they are she better tell her bosses to change the limit.

They're allowed (actually, anybody who accepts the cards is) to determine the max charge. Typically, though, fuel stations are the only ones who bother.

They're gonna have to change the limit, though. I can fill the Blazer, but not my Lincoln, on one charge.

My mom was bitchin just yesterday. About having to spend $8 for gas, to mow the yard.

I figured the math. Based on current mileage, I "used" to be able to drive my car for 4 months on Premium. For what I pay to fill it once now, with regular.

Aaah, the good old days

Pelosi said she'd help.....yes she did help.
She helped herself to more of your cash from fuel taxes.

Vote Demo and bend over again.........
