N.D. Motor Carriers Association supports national 65 mph limit

N.D. Motor Carriers Association supports national 65 mph limit
6/2/08
Quote:

BISMARCK, N.D. — The North Dakota Motor Carriers Association is joining a national effort to reduce the speed limit to 65 mph.

The American Trucking Association is heading the effort.

Tom Balzer is the managing director of the North Dakota group. He says it's the right time to make a change.

Balzer says the lower speed limit would be safer and would save on fuel.

Balzer also says he understands some members of Congress are hesitating over the issue of the rights of states to set their own speed limits.

Well there is something called freedom.... If somebody wants to spend the extra money to drive 75 that is there money to do what they want...
The right should be with the trucking company if they want to spend the extra money to run 75 and not governing their trucks at 65...

It has nothing to do with SAFTY at all period... Lets get to the truth of the matter and that being Revenue .... more tickets that cops would be writing so the states could make more money off of the public...
