There are officers that are ignoring anti-idle laws, thank God! But there are also the ****heads that are looking for any excuse...

Florida Enacts Idling Rules
6/24/08
Quote:
Florida is the latest state to impose idling restrictions on heavy trucks.

The state Environmental Regulation Commission approved a rule last week banning trucks of 8,500 pounds gross vehicle weight rating and above from idling for more than 5 consecutive minutes.

Well ---- I'm thinkin' this calls for drastic action, --- therefore, I, Shakey AfterShock, will not only not IDLE for more than 5 consecutive minutes ---- I will not venture more than one minute into any of the NO Idle states in a Big truck.

I reckon that'd make 'em happy.

(* Idling while the driver is sleeping or resting in a sleeper berth. This exemption expires at midnight September 30, 2013.)

Aftershock! You're not getting it! If we get to idle we'd miss out on enjoying that fine back row aroma while we sleep! LOL. Although at 100+, I'm not sure 'aroma' quite covers it.

At first I had the knee-jerk reaction, but the law clearly states that you can idle for the next 5 years if you are in your sleeper. After that I suppose they expect your company to have one of those fancy climate-control gizmos......makes sense to me. So, everybody going to Florida be sure and get yourself one of those curtains for when you're parked and don't answer the door.
