Diesel-fuel thieves victimizing truckers

Diesel-fuel thieves victimizing truckers
6/24/08
Arizona Republic, AZ
Quote:
Thieves looking to cash in on the soaring price of diesel fuel are going after big tractor-trailer trucks that carry hundreds of gallons of the valuable commodity.

Reports of diesel theft are on the rise in Arizona and across the nation as prices for the fuel soar. Diesel averages $4.80 nationally, about 70 cents more per gallon than regular unleaded gasoline, according to AAA. That makes the 300 gallons of diesel fuel in some big rigs' tanks a lucrative target.

I think people who steal diesel fuel should be a real target, too - the kind deserving of being shot at!

We had someone steal about 100 gallons of fuel out of a truck on Monday night. It was more of a pain in the rear than anything.

Wow. So I'm not the only one who thinks diesel theft should be a capital offense.

Checking on the cost of a Hemorrhoidlysis (hemorrhoidectomy) runs between $1000 and $3000. If the price of diesel keeps going up, losing 100 gallons of fuel to a thief will quickly become more than just a "pain in the rear".....
I'm jes sayin........
