Diesel Prices Hit New Record Diesel Prices Hit New Record 7/15/08 Quote: Diesel prices hit another record, with the Department of Energy's weekly average retail price rising 3.7 cents per gallon to $4.764. The DOE's Energy information Administration's weekly on-highway retail average actually fell in June, but has made up for it in the last two weeks, jumping nearly 12 cents per gallon. The region with the highest average price was the Central Atlantic, at $4.912 per gallon, followed closely by the West Coast at $4.909.
