Possible INCREASE in fuel tax

Quote:
Now, lawmakers quietly are talking about raising fuel taxes by a dime from the current 18.4 cents a gallon on gasoline and 24.3 cents on diesel fuel.

Yup I heard this today on the news... Because Americans are cutting back on fuel because of the high gas prices our greedy government is losing money, instead of finding resolutions to the high fuel cost and get it lowered where it would be more affordable to purchase they Rather just be lazy and add more taxes... Leave it to our millionaire law makers to take the easy way out, idiots are so far from reality anymore the have no ideal what it is like to be a common person in America... They are fighting about of shore drilling but they want to raise taxes, they are fighting about drilling in Alaska but they want to raise taxes, they will not let anymore refiners be built in America and they want to raise taxes, Perfect example right here why we need ALL of these idiots out and get new blood in there that has knowledge of what it is really like to be a common worker in America, not having a silver spoon in thier months like we have running our government now...

I agree, and that's why they get away with it... Sure, all the things I mentioned will not lower fuel by much and would not really effect the fuel price for several years away but at least it would be taking steps to do something about it... All they can think about is how to get more money to keep funding all this unnecessary crap like the UN and foreign aid... That is what they need to start cutting before they raise my taxes anywhere.. Freaking jerks want to run us into the ground and make us live 2 three families a household in order to survive, meanwhile they drive thier BMW and have illegals cleaning and cooking thier meals at home for them... I am sick of government not doing a dang thing, instead they come up with idiotic ideals like lowering the speed limit to 55MPH, is that the best the AMERICAN government can come up with????????? Tired of democratic jerks and thier green crap holding up drilling and many other programs.. Nancy need to disapeer forever and never be aloud to run in government again... Far as I am concerned Cali (sorry Ron) should not be able to vote for government officials anymore, most of them are green PETA supporting freaks as anyways.. American government is worthless at this point in getting things done, they come up with the most worthless nonsense ideals and hold up the things that would help this country with thier hate for the other party.... They can almost never agree on anything because they are blinded by thier political parties views and fail to see what is going to actually help...

We will not see any real efforts to find alternative ways to propell our vehicles and heat our homes until the government findas a way to tax it.

There is too much tax money made off of fuel, with the more used, the more taxes collected.

Likewise, the oil companies make much more money when the price of oil is high, but not so high that people cut back by a lot.

As soon as sun and water can be taxed effectively, then we will see a lot of new technology begin to appear.

So far any new developements in energy are things that the same companies that gemake money on energy now will be the ones that continue to reap the benefits in the future. Items such as Gasohol, BioDiesel, wind turbines hooked to the power grid, and so on, leaves the same crowd in charge, just with different types of the same product.

You can believe the technology is available to make cars that cost very little to operate, but the problem is big companies won't make any money off the operation of these cars.

Nothing will change until the right people are in the position to make a lot of money off of that change.

Over 90% of the American public has a less than favorable/negative view of US represenatives and US senators in Washington DC.

But those represenatives could give a f*** less about that rating, as long as they get re-elected and continue to live the dream of POWER POWER POWER.

Untill the majority of voters realize that voting for people with a net worth of 10 millions dollars is not in their best interest, this country will continue to fall down the slippery slope that our founding fathers so hated.

Money and power are the root of most (all) evil. Not a coincedence if one knows the real self serving agenda of todays political lobbyists and elected officials.

I do not, and never will, dispise the rich. But I will go to my grave with a DEEP hatered for the rich who hold any high public office.
