Quote:
A legislative panel in Massachusetts has approved a bill to mandate a practice that has been followed by professional truck drivers for decades. Dubbed the “Move Over Act,” the measure is designed to protect police and other emergency personnel during roadside stops.

It's a nice thought, but the majority of mass. drivers are morons, they would use that opportunity to blast by whoever is moving over (i'm a transplant resident)

Alabama already has that law in place. It can be a very expensive ticket. Most people that get the ticket dont even try to slow down or change lanes. Other folks say that they could not change lanes do to traffic. Well in that case you slow down to 5 mph and merge over when you can. Its common sense.

I could never remember what states have these laws so I just do it in all states. Its a good habit to get into anyway. Police officers are quite unpredictable. If god forbid you hit one of them. Say goodbye to everything.
