North Carolina Highway Patrol and Construction Work Zones

The News & Observer of Raleigh reported Monday the Federal Highway Administration provided more than $1.6 million for special patrols in work zones. But the newspaper says some troopers listed work zone enforcement as part of their duty as they drove through zones on the way to and from work.

Can you really blame them for reporting their time in a work zone if you're going to get paid extra for it? And it was put out by their Major to do just that. There should have been some clarity, certainly, but can the officers be blamed for doing as they were told?

They don't really get paid for it.
It counts as comp time. N.C. Highway Patrol are EVERYWHERE! these guys would write their own mother a ticket.

You're just saying that becuse you live by one of the biggest speed traps in NC. I counted 7 of those guys on 220 between Fayetteville st. and Hwy 64 a few weeks ago.
