Lightbulb I-35 repairs start Monday

I-35 repairs start Monday

8/2/08
Minnesota
Quote:
Expect delays beginning Monday on northbound Interstate 35 between 21st and 40th avenues west in Duluth.

That section of Interstate 35 will be restricted to a single lane while repairs are made to a bridge damaged last month during a crash.
A large steel beam will be replaced and other repairs will be made to the concrete bridge deck and railings. Damage occurred June 19 when a runaway semitrailer struck the I-35 bridge, causing a large piece of heavy equipment to fall.

The repairs are expected to take three weeks.
The $330,000 project cost will be reimbursed by the Florida trucking company that caused the damage, according to a Minnesota Department of Transportation press release.
