BEAUMONT - The classified ads ballyhoo 401K plans, life and health insurance, signing bonuses of up to $5,000, regular weekday hours and annual salaries topping $100,000.
But the help that's wanted has nothing to do with performing surgery, taking lawsuits to trial, selling real estate or being a puppet master for Big Business.
This occupation simply is a matter of going from Point A to Point B - in a truck.
From tankers to dump trucks, Southeast Texas companies are looking for truckers, with the demand expected to grow with $15 billion in industrial projects under way and the economic ripples already spreading across the land.

where do the come up with the truck shortage myth, companies are daily going out of business due to lack of freight and the ones barely hanging on are doing so by cutting rates and keeping us all from getting the raises we need to live like everyone else.
all this is,is a myth perpetrated by the trucking companies so they can keep the driver pay low and the brokers so they can keep on scamming the owner/operators.

I guess everyone noticed the part in the article where it said they were looking to change companies after only 3 months................Hmmmmmm..........Wonder why that is????????????????????

Also makes me think they are trying to work the angle of getting foreign drivers in to work for cheap........

I just read another post where a stock analyst lowered guidance on the whole trucking sector because freight volumes are falling, so who in their right mind would think the trucking industry has a shortage of anything, except of course common sense.
