Hopefully karma will bite this employer in the butt big time. Good samaritan laws only protect samaritans from being sued. It's about time those laws were expanded.

Yea.

This 20 year old has helped others before

Such as on my way back to work at JB Hunt in Lowell from lunch, one of our guys had his side-mirror thwarked off by a Tyson driver on 71B in Lowell. Got his plate and trailer number, and stopped to assist our guy who had pulled over just short of the turnoff to the HQ. Far as I know, he went back to the shop to repair the mirror and went on his way. Filled the report at the terminal, signed off on it, and went back to work, since I was on Flex-Sched at the time.

OMG this is why people fail to help others in need. I am thinking John's boss did him a favor. I would bet finds a better job with more pay. I hope so anyway.

That totally sucks. he should have gotten a medal for helping. A May driver was fired a few years ago after seeing a car go off the road and wrecking, he stopped, rescued the occupants from the car, later being fired for doing it on company time. hows that for a gratefull company.

Imagine what would've happened if those truckers that won the Highway Hero Award had decided not to save those people because they were afraid their company would fire them. There were would be a few more dead people in heaven. One of the Highway Heroes was an England driver of all things. Even C R England realizes that the drivers are the knights of the road. There are few people in the world with true honest courage. And the ones that do are being punished.

Okay, I have a sixteen year old daughter who loves to cook, who wants someone like y'all!

Seriously, this driver will likely get more offers for employment than he knows what to do with. And the boss... well, in this area he would lose so many customers he'd go belly up!
