With that said Indiana has purchased 30 more Mustangs and they just got them in, so beware.. The information has been kept quite because at the cost of $50,000 fully equip would make many mad, with to the huge budget cuts Indiana has done for the upcoming year. Anyways its done they now have them and they will be using them ALOT....

I took this picture yesterday and this particular mustang happens to be my jerk brother in law..
(Rumor has it they have plan on getting several Camaros as well, when they come out)

They are almost impossible to tell unless you are right up on them.

Had to smile over the jerk brother in law comment. Funny.

At $50K, they've gotta be loaded to the hilt! Fully loaded stock GT's are only about... $28-30 or so, that's what we paid, anyway. The new Camaros will be a great addition, too, but I really don't understand the point. They were able to catch speeders and write tickets before, it's not like they really needed something FASTER to chase them with...

Yep seen'em.

The one in Indianapolis is a silver mustang with really dark windshields.
He's spends a lot of time between 465 loop on I-70, and Greenfield In. I see him probably 2-3 times a week with a truck pulled over.

Watch out for the motorcycle cops too. They normally hide under the overpasses on I-70 going into Indianapolis.

This is all I can tell you about the cost reaching around 50,000..

Police package includes engine upgrade for more horsepower, larger radiator, suspension system upgrade, and of coarse they are chipped..
(At least this is what I was told)

With the lights, radio equipment, in-car video camera, radar unit, and laptop computer, this adds around $16,000 per unit

Indiana is devious with their unmarked vehicles. up here near south bend, i've seen suvs completely blacked out with dark tinted windows ( so you can't see the red and blues unless they are on), & no spot lights. They probably bought them with the $ they got from leasing the toll road out.

Florida has ALL sorts of different vehicles on the roads - or at least did when I lived down there. They take drug dealer's cars, check them out, slap some equipment and new paint on them and set them free to work patrol. That's a very effective and simple way of taking some of the pressure off the tax payer and putting it on people doing wrong.

Ya I seen that the other day... They had a car on patrol for 4 months then a drug do went off on the car.. Well they searched the car again and found hidden apartments filled with cocaine... That man in jail was probably saying boy I am glad they didn't find that... Now he is hating life more then what he was before.....

Cybergal, I don't know if that black car can drive itself, but it certainly is pretty!!

As for Mustangs, we have three.

With regard to Florida's use of cars that are confiscated, I don't understand how other states can't see that as the positive that it is! Surely it's less expensive to outfit those cars than to buy all new ones!

Because the drug dealers here drive beat up impalas on 24" gold rims....

The dealers down in Florida drive BMW's and Vetts ext.....
