North Fond du Lac police are asking for the public's help in solving a semitrailer theft from the parking lot at the Stretch Truck Stop, 565 N. Pioneer Road.

Kenneth L. Young said his semitrailer is a 2006 model Doonan, black and aluminum in color, displaying a Wisconsin registration trailer plate number 506275 and a VIN number of 1D9BG502661208001. The trailer also displays number 680.
The trailer is described as a "step deck" similar to a flatbed trailer. The trailer is valued at $30,000, according to a police report.
The trailer was loaded with approximately $58,000 worth of flat steel from Manitowoc Cranes in Manitowoc, which was being shipped to Giddings & Lewis in Fond du Lac.
The loaded trailer was parked in the Stretch lot on Saturday, Aug. 23. The driver discovered the trailer missing at about 6:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 25.
Police request that anyone with information about the theft call the North Fond du Lac Police Department at (920) 906-5555.

check the scrap yard (recycled metals) the serial number probably in the scrap--shredded metal pile...possibly not resembling a trailer....but now in the form of freight for another trailer.....
