Corny Tale Of A Sleeping Truck Driver

A Corny Tale Of A Sleeping Truck Driver’s Big Oops

Quote:
It’s one of those stories that almost sounds, well…corny.
The driver of the truck above says the drive shaft his truck broke as he pulled away from Escambia Grain in Walnut Hill Thursday. While waiting for someone to arrive to repair the truck, he fell asleep.
All was well, he said, until he woke up and looked behind the truck’s trailer. The tailgate release on the trailer is located next to the steering wheel. While he was was asleep, he apparently bumped the tailgate release, dumping a large amount of corn onto Arthur Brown Road. So much corn, in fact, that it blocked one lane of the highway.
“I can’t believe it did that,” the driver said. “Next time I’ll sleep in the passenger seat so I don’t bump that thing.”

That is why I appreciate having to get out of the truck and walk back to the trailer to release the gate. Not that I haven't forgotten to lock the little bugger, but you get told about that from the loader in a hurry!

Sounds like it just wasn't his day or night....where was that spill again? My husband would love to put it out and let the deer feed. Hunting season is on it's way!!

A good reason to use a sleeper truck when hauling grain, I have a friend that has electric hopper gates, if he ever has that happen to him, he will never hear the end of it.
