Gifts For Truckers Gifts For Truckers 8/29/08 WMDT, MD Quote: Truck drivers stopping by the truck scales on Route 13 got a little care package today. The American Trucking Association and FedEx Ground held their annual appreciation for the nation's truck drivers this week. Travis Boardman, a contractor for FedEx Ground, said they chose to honor the 3.4 million truck drivers because of all of their hard work. Boardman said, "This is their week to get a pat on the back and say, 'Hey, we appreciate everything we're doing.'" Yeah , yeah , once a year ATA pats drivers on the back . The rest of the year they're putting a knife in their back . FedEx Ground has all contractors that courts said should be classified as employees . But FedEx Ground doesn't appreciate them enough to give them benefits UPS drivers get for doing the same job .
