Trucking legislation directed at Mexico

Trucking legislation directed at Mexico
9/15/08
Quote:
Dismissing a White House veto threat, the House voted last week to end a pilot program giving Mexican trucks access to U.S. highways.
The Bush administration stressed that the United States is obligated, under the 1994 North American Free Trade Agreement, to open up American roads to Mexican truckers, and that terminating the year-old demonstration project would have repercussions for American trucks allowed into Mexico.
Passage of the House bill, it said "would pose significant and immediate risks to U.S. interests."

ok, so what American driver is stupid enough to want to go into Mexico

the only one interested in going into Mexico is companies like swift so that they can get their already cheap freight moved even cheaper, they could care less about the welfare of the drivers that work for them or their safety, both physically and financially just get that freight moved as cheap as possible and if an American driver won't work for food they will use a Mexican that will work for beans!!

I used swift as a prime example but there are other companies with the same attitude
