Flooding closes I-255 in East St. Louis Flooding closes I-255 in East St. Louis 9/15/08 Belleville News Democrat, USA Quote: Traffic around the metro-east Monday morning: Interstate 255 at State Street in East St. Louis is closed due to flooding. Traffic is slow on Interstate 55/64/70 westbound between Fourth Street in East St. Louis and the Poplar Street Bridge. In Columbia there is road construction on eastbound Interstate 255. The right lane is closed at Illinois 3 at the Columbia/exit 6. Illinois 100 near Grafton is closed at Clifton Terrace Road for road construction to repair damage sustained during summer floods.
