Stopsign CB radios reported stolen from trucks

CB radios reported stolen from trucks

The Marshall Democrat-News, MO
Quote:
Five unlocked trucks, five CB radios stolen by a person or persons unknown.
Saline County Sheriff's deputies were called to Betty's Truck Stop early Thursday morning, Oct. 2, to investigate the disappearance of CB radios and other items stolen from five truckers parked at the truck stop.
All of the trucks had been left unlocked. Other than a muddy footprint on the carpet in one of the trucks, there was no evidence left at the scene, and nothing showing on the truck stop's security camera, according to an incident report from the Sheriff's department. Investigation into the theft continues.

You would think that these drivers would know to lock their trucks. That's just basic common sense.

I have had my radio stolen twice.... Truck was locked.. As you all know they are easy to get into.. I know I could get in my truck less then 20 sec with a stiff hanger and a screw driver... once I had everything stolen out of it.. I mean everything.. Thy even took my blanket and sheets of the bed... They didn't even leave me a pillow.

Dang it guess that's why your an ex trucker couldn't afford new stuff after the second time. any hoo... Yes it is easy to break into trucks, but as they say locks only keep honest people honest. The trucks should still be locked!

Well, I don't buy cheap things.. So yes it was very costly... laptop, Galaxy 95T, LCD TV, Fridge, Power converter tool box ext.... all of it..
Several thousand dollars worth..(I would guess around $4000-5000)
What gets me they probably sold it all for a couple hundred...

No,I wish that was the reason why I no longer drive...
I don't drive anymore due to another thief... Trucking companies...
3 companies adding up to around $7500-8000....

I had my last two radios stolen out of my locked truck on a "secure" lot. First my General Lee was taken, they just went old school for that one and broke out the driver side window. Second was my Connex 3300HP, they cut the rear window out and climbed on it. Hard to make myself buy another when they keep getting stolen from me.

My hubby had his power inverter and tire pressure gauge stolen out of his truck and it was locked. All you need is a key from another truck of the same make, which is disgusting.

Most company trucks are keyed the same so the driver can use another truck if the company wants. It also does allow shopping without the need of a check out.
