HPD officer finds body during SW Freeway traffic stop

A routine traffic stop turned into a possible homicide investigation early today after Houston police found a dead man in the cab of a tractor-trailer rig on the Southwest Freeway.
Investigators are questioning the driver of the truck, which a patrol officer stopped in the 9600 block of U.S. 59, near Bissonnet, about 4 a.m. because of an unspecified traffic violation.
The officer called homicide detectives after seeing the body in the cab with the driver.
No obvious injuries were visible on the body, police said. They have not said where the truck was from, where it was going or whether the driver is cooperating with the investigation.
