Arizona DOT wants your input on transportation

If you live in or truck in Northern Arizona, you have a stake in the future of transportation there.
Arizona Department of Transportation officials will present possible scenarios for the next few decades of transportation needs and funding during community workshops in November. Emphasis in the Northern Arizona Regional Framework Study is on long-range transportation needs from 2030 through 2050.
Officials will incorporate public input into a final report to be delivered to the governor and Arizona Legislature at a future date.
“With no end in sight to population growth and development in Arizona, the gap between transportation needs and funding is expected to grow significantly over the next several decades,” officials stated in promotional materials.
Planning goals include safe and efficient mobility, sustainable urban development, energy independence, a reduction in greenhouse gas production, and an improved quality of life, officials said.
Workshops will consist of presentations by ADOT officials and opportunities for the public to speak and file comments.
