LANSFORD Area farmers are helping out a former Lansford man who is battling cancer.
Matt Undlin, assistant manager at Dakota Dry Bean in Lansford, said about 12 farmers so far have transported peas from Lansford to Crary or donated fuel to help out trucker Jeff Dean, who now lives in Williston and runs JM Trucking.
Some local farmers who truck on the side have helped transport the peas. Dakota Dry Bean is paying for the freight. Dean gets the proceeds from each load of dry yellow peas that the farmers haul for him.
