Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell announced the award of more than $454,000 in grants to 81 businesses statewide, which will help the firms reduce energy costs and pollution.
The funding was awarded under the state’s Small Business Advantage program, which provides grants of up to $7,500 with a 50 percent match for equipment or processes that increase energy efficiency and prevent pollution.
Locally, the following grants were awarded:
Allegheny County

  • Quality Combustion Inc. - $4,500 for energy-efficient lighting fixtures.
  • Ideal Trucking Inc. - $7,500 for an auxiliary power unit in long-haul trailer.
