Small trucking businesses based in Wisconsin, including many OOIDA members and Land Line readers, received a sizable portion of the state’s APU grant funds in 2008.
Wisconsin’s Diesel Truck Idling Reduction Grant Program awarded $1,229,708 for partial reimbursements of APUs in 2008. Of that amount, $414,406 was awarded to OOIDA members and Land Line readers.
OOIDA has worked with the Wisconsin Department of Commerce to ensure that a portion of the funds are set aside for small-business trucking carriers.
Among large fleets obtaining Wisconsin funds, Marten Transport Services of Mondovi, WI, purchased 36 APUs after obtaining $152,236.77 from the program, and Roehl Transport, Inc of Marshfield, WI, purchased 21 units after receiving $72,683.66.
