Road Trucks may be banned from left lane

Trucks may be banned from left lane of most of I-20 and I-30 in Dallas-Fort Worth

4/12/09
Quote:
ARLINGTON — Trucks and other vehicles with three or more axles will likely be banned from the left lane by March along most of Interstates 20 and 30 in Dallas-Fort Worth, regional planners said.
"We believe the motoring public is safer with those restrictions," Arlington Police Chief Theron Bowman said.
Since November 2005, trucks have been banned from the fast lane of I-30 from Hulen Street in Fort Worth to Collins Street in Arlington and from part of I-20 in Dallas.

This is ridiculous.. and coming from a 4 wheeler

the news article stated:
Quote:
Since November 2005, trucks have been banned from the fast lane of I-30
This is inherently wrong. It's not a bleeping fast lane, it's a PASSING lane!!! Which is the only way any trucker would use it... they're the best drivers on the road when all variables are factored in.

Unfortunately, everybody and their grandmother have an undying need to be in the left lane, especially here in assachusettes.

Personally I drive the highways the same as the trucks. I keep right except to pass, I move left when I can for on mergers.

The people that stay left are either afraid of changing lanes or self righteous jackholes. My idea of fast differs from the aging hippie in the Prius or the soccer mom in the Expedition

Alright....then I hope the 4-wheelers don't mind if we ban them from the truck only lanes on the 5/14 split....I'm tired of having to share the truck lanes with them....

No doubt about that. Hate when they are in the far right lane and never move over on 3 lane road. so when we need to gain speed for a hill or can't back out of fuel pedal. lose all momentum and then stress others behind in the slowest lane.

I wish 4 wheelers could drive a fully loaded 70,000-80,000 pound truck for a week.
