Changes steer new Idaho roads study

Quote:
BOISE, Idaho — Idaho is again trying to determine whether owners of heavy trucks and cars are paying their fair share for roads.

The state will use new Federal Highway Administration methodology for a highway cost allocation study and will appoint an advisory committee to oversee the research, The Spokesman-Review reported.

Those steps are being taken to try to avoid the problems in a 2007 study on the same issue, in which the study’s authors said possible glitches in Idaho’s record keeping and software used for the study may have affected the data. At the time, Idaho Transportation Department Director Pam Lowe said the problems were too complex and needed too much time to fix, so the study was scrapped.

The main problem in idaho right now is that we have a alcoholic dipstick for a governor, who after getting in office fired everyone from city hall to state that ever had anything to do with him getting a dui before becoming governor, and this is no joke, he wanted to up all road taxes for big trucks and then raise everyones vehicle registration to 135 dollars per vehicle, that went over like a lead balloon , then he wants a tax to tax more on beer and wine and other alcohol and tobacco, im glad i live close to oregon do my shopping there, plus most of the time i can get cheaper fuel at the local pilot.
