Goodbye Monson

Although I didn't quit this company under the best terms, I am still shocked and sad to see them go. This was my first driving job and they allowed me to get the experience I needed to move on to other things. There are a good bunch of guys and gals now jobless (drivers, mechanics, and office people alike) who will be in my thoughts and prayers.

The trucks were slow and definitely not fancy, and the loads were not always fun, but the money was unbeatable back then and they got us home every week, even if it meant a 1200 mile deadhead from Texas or the Southeast.

I guess we all used to think Monson trucks would be hauling paper and scrap paper around the Midwest even if nuclear winter struck, Just goes to show how our world is changing.

Goodbye Monson, and thank you for serving our nation for over 94 years!

They run intl 9200's with C12, C13 cats # 410hp, 9-10spds, 51" high rise bunks, all steel wheels, no jakes, kinda bare bones. I remember not too long ago when they used to run all cabovers with 3406E 355hp cats. I am gonna miss seeing them on the road.
