Florida APU program still has cash for truckers available

Truck owners from Florida can still apply to obtain free money through an APU rebate program designed to help truckers comply with the state’s new idling regulation.

“We’re asking truckers to come and get it,” said Robert Wong, environmental consultant at the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. “Funds are still available.”

Owners of Class 8 on-road commercial diesel trucks model year 2006 and older can apply for up to three $1,500 rebates for APUs purchased and installed in 2009 through the Florida Clean Diesel Rebate Program.
