Driving in Rhode Island

The Providence area has to be the worst area in the NE for truckers. This darn bridge being closed to truck traffic is just a major headache. It must be bad enough for a driver who is just trying to pass through on I-95, but if you are running a delivery route in the area its even worse. If you don't know the area like the back of your hand, then more then likely you will end up going over the bridge by mistake(I did and got lucky). Especially if you are using a GPS, I just recently got the Nuvi 465T, and it does not pick up this detour, instead it is always trying to bring you over the freaking bridge.
This just seems like a big money maker for the state of RI!! Do the math, 10 trucks a day x $3000 =$30,000 x 5 days is $150,000!! Hell of a way to get money to pay for your pet projects!!

the big ol' signs give you advanced warning, however, if u are going nort on 95 u can cross that bridge, its south they dont want trucks on, and they prefer not to have trucks on the nb side, thats why those big sigs are there both ways, its cause the bridge cant take the weight of the trucks, and ur gps is not defective, its actualy working the right way, of course it would not pick up a detour, it dont work that way, they plan on fixing the bridge, and ur gps will work properly for u in the future, but it sounds like youll never give ur gps the chance to show u around that area again hahaha
