As long as the US government doesn't use tariffs to protect its automobile industry, it's just gonna be that way.

The UAW leadership looks out for its members, why would you expect anything less?

Yeah right......
Explain why Honda America and Toyota America both exceed Detroit's numbers every year.....and with the exception of Ford (which didn't take the bail-out btw), make by far superior products than Government Motors or Chrysler....

...let's escort all the Canadiens to the closet border and keep them out as well! Why should we subsidize their economy when American drivers are starving. And I'm NOT kidding!
Canadian trucks need to stay in Canada too!

Canada actually manufactures goods and services that Americans can use....

Let's not forget that Canada also is one of our major oil Exporters....
Canada is a fair and equitable trading partner with the US...and Canada does not send its poor over to US soil illegally to subsidize its government like Mexico.....

Not to mention Canada gave us some of the best rock bands:

The Guess Who

Rush

BTO

Well, haven't been able to find another driving job yet because of the economy. Now, when they let the Mexican drivers up here, I might as well forget about it. :/ Not sure how our industry is supposed to cope with this.

Unlike all the produce, silver, cotton, a ton of manufactured goods and oil and oil products that are the major exports of Mexico that we use here. Exporting to USA #1, Canada #2, and Germany #3.

Best rock bands??? No where near the level of the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Cream, Yard Birds, Clapton....

Best thing Canada ever gave us was hockey, and even that ain't all that great anymore.

But keep the Mexican drivers and their unsafe equipment and driving practices out of the USA!

I think those are two incredibly important facts. If we didn't have to already deal with the tidal wave of illegals who are bleeding this nation's economy through social services AND if the mexican government would require their trucking industry to have safe trucks, regulations, and qualified drivers NOT to mention if there was some type of financial benefit to OUR economy THEN we might welcome them.
