Timetable for merger of Flying J and Pilot

Timetable for merger of Flying J and Pilot

Quote:
The $4.5 billion merger between Flying J and Pilot Travel Centers is expected to be completed by March 31, 2010.

While eight months seems like plenty of time, there are a number of critical tasks that need to be completed on a timely basis.

The first step, which was the Bankruptcy Court needing to approve the Letter of Intent, occurred by the July 31 deadline. The letter is part of the critical $100 million Debtor in Possession financing arrangement.

As part of the Letter of Intent, Flying J agreed to an Exclusivity Period where Flying J agreed not to enter into discussions with other acquirers. This is a common provision since Pilot will devote considerable time and resources to completing this merger.

And by April 1st, there will only be subways and mcdonalds in all of them. April 2nd, the internet will be trashed. April 3rd the destruction of FJ will be complete.

Nice...Not!

I think we'll all miss a lot when Pilot takes over. Any more word about what Peelot's plans are? It definitely sounds like the restaurants are a goner.

A few weeks ago I asked two Flying J waitresses about that. They said that there were no plans to cut out the restuarants. I sorta inferred with them that corporate powers that be may think differntly and Subways may be installed sooner than later.

I hope not, though ... I really do like the Flying J sit down (Country Market) restuarants.

I'm hearing different things from the waitresses I know. Some say all the restaurants are going away. Some say half are going away. Either way, I hate to see less options out here. I also wouldn't want my favorite ladies to lose their jobs.

Pilot gobbles the J, what does it mean for us?

Been hearing a lot of rumors swirling about the recent Pilot takeover of Flying J...anybody have a sense of things to come? I like the J, but I'm afraid I won't recognize it soon!

Hopefull it ends up being like TA snatching up Petro and we dont notice much of a difference...But we are talking Pilot here and they are very very famous for being able to screw up good truck stops when they buy them. One thing is for sure, you will at least get comdata use at all J's. If i was willing to bet money I bet you will see another 50 million subways open up.Pilot seems to think that is the only food truck drivers should be allowed to have. I think you will probably see alot more of the Flying J sit down spots close up and be replaced with fast food I just really hope they leave the drievrs lounges. Pilot seems to very much hate drivers lounges and they always seem to get closed off and turned into storage or offices when they buy truck stops and they very rarely build them in their own locations. Pilot stinks. Hopefully they dont change things up to terribly. We really dont need anymore places trying to get us to buy 2 of everything when all we want is one!!!!!!!!
