WTH??? Half million per stop a year??

How many full blown and staffed businesses that size even come close to that number???

Why can't they run it like a business and hire normal people to maintain these places? They gotta make that in pepsi sales a day. The property is still being paid for, that's gotta be 90% of it, and they're already built! ARGH!!

Trucks Rock
If it weren’t for trucks you would be living in a cave beating animals with a stick to eat

i agree. look at all the " Parking areas out west " just parking spaces, no bathroom, water, vending or anything, id be fine with VA if they would do that for us. highway patrol passes through a few times per shift, just to let people no they are there.
but to put the barriers up to not even allow access is a bit much. y cant va realize how much danger they are putting on us truck drivers? its fine that they wanna fine/ticket us for parking on the ramps, but what happens the next time their is a bad wreck caused by a sleeper truck driver who couldnt find a spot to park? the blame will be on the truck driver, not the state.
I like NV, they have signs that even say to pull over on the side of the highway if ur toooo tired..more states should take that law.
AR has signs at the coop, " New State Law, No Parking on Ramps or Shoulders."
but i guess they have ample truck parking along the hwys unlike va.

And there are plenty of states that have rest areas with no facilities. Why not just close the facilities at these places, but let them open for parking? It can't cost that much to have someone stop by once in a while and empty the trash bins.
You shouldn't be parking on an "on-ramp" (except in an emergency) anyway.
