Civil suit starts against C.R. England

Civil suit starts against C.R. England

Quote:
PORTLAND, Ore. — A trial begins today in a civil complaint that accuses C.R. England Inc. of gross negligence. The suit, which is being heard in Portland's federal courthouse, is being brought by Andrea Lister, the daughter of a woman who was severely injured in an accident with one of the company's trucks in late 2005.

Her mother initially filed suit but has since passed away from cancer.

In the suit, which seeks $430,000 in compensatory damages and punitive damages, Lister alleges that the company ignored the driver's checkered past and pushed him onto the highway, where he hit 85-year-old Marjorie Dunn.

its amazing to me that none of these companies can take responsibility for things like this, I get fired for having a misdemeanor on my record from 6 years ago, and this guy can run when he does coke and pot and kills 3 people??Somethings wrong with that picture

Unhappy

WOW, well hell yes CR England should be held to account on this one! The guy killed three people. Sheesh. But, this certainly does not surprise me that CR England (one of the worst trucking companies in America, IMHO) would hire him as they have to hire idiots and mindless people to work for them or they wouldn't be able to stay in business. The fact that they have stayed in business this long simply amazes me. I wish you good luck, Lister. It is NOT going to be easy for you.
