Border patrol agents along the U.S.-Mexico border in California made busts on 12 marijuana-smuggling attempts in a 24-hour period last week, including nearly two tons of pot stuffed among a load of produce.

According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, a truck pulling a trailer with produce applied for admission into the U.S. at the Otay Mesa (CA) Port of Entry at 4:15 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 3.

The driver was referred to an X-ray examination, where officers saw unusual things among the truck’s cargo. Also, a narcotic detection dog alerted officers to the cargo area.

Inside, officers found 256 packages of marijuana hidden among produce. The drugs weighed more than 3,500 pounds, and have an estimated street value of about $2 million.

Within a 24-hour period Thursday, border agents stopped about 4,400 pounds of marijuana entering the U.S. from Mexico. Some smugglers had drugs taped to their bodies, while others used hidden compartments in vehicles and under engine hoods.

Those tunnels need to be filled full of concrete, that will stop them critters.

I had an urge to smoke my salad. This government needs to legalize marijauna and tax it....then perhaps we can pay for the health care for Americans without in this country. Put an end to this anitquated law...end reefer madness!
