Ill. truck stops could add gambling

Ill. truck stops could add gambling
Quote:
Feeling lucky? Truck drivers going through Illinois may not have to go very far if they want to test out their luck.

With a new provision of the state’s gaming laws, Illinois truck stops could soon contain mini-casinos, as reported by the Bloomington, Ill. Pantagraph newspaper.

According to a report, truck stops occupying at least three acres with a separate fueling station for semis would be allowed to install gambling machines. The truck stops must also be licensed to sell alcohol to install the machines.

We have a ton of closed malls with ample parking that could be made into casinos with hotels, restaurants, stores. With all these states hurting for money, they should think about using them instead of letting them sit empty!

that will be good for safety, drivers spending their 10hr breaks in the casino and then drive on little or no sleep.

I agree put poker tables in the truck stops-as far as drivers taking their ten in the casinos its called self responsibility. Why should everyone else not have the option we have in nevada because a few cant say its time to quit.

Oh yeah! I would love to have poker tables in the truck stops. Easy money for me.
Even though I lost $400 at Black Hawk Monday, I am still up nearly $2000 on the month just from stopping and playing hold-em along the way. Last night took $660 from the poker room at Harah's in Metropolis, Ill. I actually make more money stopping a few times a month and playing poker than I do driving. We need Casino's in Ohio already!!

But dirtyoldman is right, I would probably never get any in Illinois. LMAO

Boy I can't think of any better way to promote safe truck driving than to put casinos into truckstops that MUST sell alcohol to qualify! Where are all those anti-trucker groups on this issue?
