Kansas Turnpike cash tolls to rise Oct. 1

Kansas Turnpike cash tolls to rise Oct. 1
Quote:
The Kansas Turnpike Authority announced that cash tolls will increase 5 percent for trucks and 15 percent for passenger vehicles starting Thursday, Oct. 1. Drivers with KTAG accounts will see no change.

KTA officials say the increase is necessary to cover increasing costs and to provide incentive for drivers to go cashless with a KTAG transponder.

For a five-axle commercial vehicle traveling from Topeka to Wichita, the $39.75 cash toll becomes $41.74 on Oct. 1. The current $12.50 toll from Kansas City, KS, to Topeka will become $13.13.

That's a switch. The toll increase is higher for cars than trucks? You'll never see that east of the Mississippi.
