Roads being neglected despite stimulus Roads being neglected despite stimulus, AASHTO says Quote: A recent report from USA Today, titled “Stimulus takes detour around ailing metropolitan roads” misses the bigger story says the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO). “The economic stimulus transportation band-aid, while welcome, is woefully inadequate to maintain, much less improve, the nation’s highway system,” the group said on its Web site.
