Man sentenced for impersonating motor carrier inspector

Man sentenced for impersonating motor carrier inspector
Quote:
A New Jersey man recently was sentenced after pleading guilty to impersonating a federal motor carrier inspector. Hugo Daniel Solana was sentenced Sept. 21 in U.S. District Court in Newark to one year probation and ordered to pay a $100 special assessment and a $500 fine.

Solana, owner of Union, N.J.-based motor carrier consulting firm Redsol Safety Corp., appeared at several trucking firms in the Newark area, where he displayed a gold badge, identified himself as an inspector, and produced a business card bearing a U.S. Department of Transportation seal, according to DOT's Office of Inspector General.
