how do big companies get by about lying on DAC reports? Don't they realize that it not only effects a driver but that drivers family as well? It's unfair that one man sitting in an office gets pissed at a driver and decides to ruin him by making him or her not re-hirable . That some of us have spent big money getting our CDL and counting on that as our future, while they go home every night to a family that They provide for. let someone steal their lively hood from them with a lie and see how they would get by. Yeah I'm venting right now, got dismissed by a company that dispatched the drivers illegally, ran them on their off time when they were supposed to be in the bunk taking their 10 hours, reported a blow over as an intersection collision when clearly police reports and photographs show otherwise. I hope this person can look his self in the mirror daily and know what a jack ### he is . Thanks for letting me vent .

I know what your talking about. I recently pulled a muscle in my back at a trucking job. The doctor gave me a shot of steroids muscle relaxers and some hydro-something pain pills and the company said I had to go to work. There is no driver shortage just a slave shortage.

aw - you guys are just waxing nostalgic for the days when people still had ethics, empathy, and a conscience. they never even see you, what do they care whose life they're ruining? nowadays, it's all about figuring out how we can screw someone out of something. and 40K the first year with proper training??? I had a nice chuckle on that one! I made about $26K my first year. I NEVER would have made $50K, much less $60K a year. what do they mean by "proper training?" if you're lucky, you might get a trainer who isn't a smelly, idiotic arsehole? I busted my ### 2 years before I saw 40K a year. and I EARNED every last penny of it putting in 100 hour weeks (NO - NOT sitting at a truck stop playing video games!) you simply can't make that kind of money driving a truck - you can either get high mileage pay and low miles on flatbed, or low mileage pay and high miles on van. either way, it won't ad up to $60K a year. the drivers that MIGHT have been making close to that have been gotten rid of and replaced with students who will drive for 19CPM.

this isn't news. there is NO news reporting any more. it's all just BS propaganda. "conservative" propaganda on fox, and "liberal" propaganda on msnbc. and frequently, one just yaks about what the other one is saying. it's nothing but 2nd rate actors, paid by their masters to entertain the dumb masses. it is NOT journalism. we seriously need to clean house in this country before it's too late.

So what you gonna do about it? Just stand around and let them push you around. If you have police reports, and photos then why not hire an attourney? Slander, libel, defamation of character to name a few, get your DAC fixed. Do somethign about it instead of standing by idle, yeah it will cost you some money upfront but until people start standing up against these companies and make an example out of them they will just keep doing it to the next person out there as well, and then the next and then the next etc etc.

could you relate your own experience of hiring a lawyer, suing your company, and the outcome of the case?

I think CSA 2010 will go a long way toward making DAC obsolete. That may be one of the few good things about it though.

Replacing a bad system with a worse system seems to be the new in thing, unfortunately.

I just recieved a memo from our company regarding this. And, I'm wanting to take a closer look at the entire thing. Much closer !!!

Based on what I've been spoon fed so far, it's going to get bad out here for drivers next year. There will be a shortage of drivers by the end of 2010.

And many newbies won't survive their first month as a solo driver.

The term "Judge Dredd" comes to mind with the authority that will be granted to the DOT under CSA 2010.

I'll expand on that a bit, when I've confirmed what I've been told.
