I was curious about this so I went over to the DOT website. From the way I understand it "unfit" means being fatigued or your paperwork isn't in order. I am still trying to find out more about it.

I would say unfit is like some of the drivers I have had the mis-fortune to team with. Never more that two weeks luckily though.

One was slim, but had COPD so bad he could not walk to the rear of the trailer, shut the doors, and walk back to the cab without bending over the steering wheel, gasping for air, and being unable to talk for about 10 minutes.

Or the extremely fat guy who would only get out of the truck maybe three times a week. He could not walk 75 feet without sounding like he had ran a martathon. Hook about 15 pills a day, and used a CPAP machine. I don't think a CPAP machine should disqualify, but this guy needed his because of his weight.

Then there was the guy that had had at least three TIAs while on the truck, and his reasoning was a little off. Nice guy though, but hard to sleep behind.

Or the other guy that recently had a heart attack, took about 15 pills a day also, couldn't walk from the truck to the truck stop without his chest hurting.

These are the drivers I believe they are talking about.

This is wrong on so many levels that these drivers can get a medical and then put the public in danger.

I see no differance in this, than CRST publicly proclaiming they are a 70% student based company.

7 out of 10 CRST drivers don't know what the hell they're doing. That's more dangerous than these guys mentioned.

How about the 77 drivers that failed a Drug/Alcohol testing and their companies still put them on the streets...That's even scarier!

I'm on target to GROSS $45k. However, GROSS and NET are 2 different things. Between taxes and insurance, I'll be lucky to bring home $30k.

I call up a trucking co. To see about getting hired. 4 diff. ? were asked. About smoking and drugs. then height & weight. She did somethang on the computer and said we cant hire you it seem you to heavy for your height . Now I'm 6'1" 250pd.I know linebacker in high school that weight is 300pd and 5'7". NFL football players that have a height to weight ratio seem to be able to touch there toes.

Road expenses for me are minimal. But, like I said, what I agree that what they say and what reality is are 2 different stories.
