No Letup in Truck Driver Demand

Even in a deep recession like the United States has been suffering through, big-rig drivers remain in demand.

Quote:
"It's never a bad time to become a [LINK POSTED BY MEMBER] Only Members Can View This Truck Forum Link. driver," said Angela Horowitz, vice president of driver resources for Dallas-based Stevens Transport. "There will always be goods moving across our nation, and 80% of all the volume goes over the road."

State and federal government economists predict a steady growth in demand for truck drivers.

With the proper training, a new driver can earn around $40,000 the first year, and $60,000 or more by the second or third year.

There has never been a shortage of drivers, if there had been a shortage, pay rates and freight rates would climb.

But, what there has been is a lack of suckers, which has been reported as being a shortage.

Why is the newspaper publishing advertisements for Stevens Transport like it's an actual news story?

Working for any of the bottom feeder companies you'll earn it but you'll never see it in your checks!
