| U.S. Postal Service offers $100,000 for information on worker's slaying U.S. Postal Service offers $100,000 for information on worker's slaying Quote:
The U.S. Postal Service is offering up to $100,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the shooting death of a contract truck driver between 5:45 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. Oct. 2 at the Camp Hill Post Office. The trucker, Tony Harrelson of Dadeville, Ala., had been transporting mail for the U.S. Postal Service for about four years.
“He was in his line of duty when he was shot and killed at the Camp Hill Post Office,” said Yulanda Burns, postal inspector and public information officer. “This is our top priority case in the country right now. We’re trying to solicit the public and encourage people to call in with information.”
Burns said residents of Columbus as well as Phenix City, Opelika, Smith Station, LaFayette, Lanett, Dadeville, Camp Hill and other East Alabama towns received notices in the mail about Harrelson’s death and the reward.
Camp Hill is located on U.S. 280 between Opelika and Dadeville. The post office is in the downtown district.
So far, no arrests have been made.
