Crash renews debate on Montana 35 truck traffic

Quote:
POLSON, Mont. — The debate on whether to allow truck traffic on a narrow highway along the east shore of Flathead Lake has been renewed after another tractor trailer crashed and caught fire, injuring the driver.

The accident, which was reported at about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, was about 200 yards from the site of a 2008 fuel truck crash that forced five families to evacuate their homes near Montana 35 for several months. Two other trucks have crashed in the area in the last couple of years.

believe it or not, i was served a summons for that fuel tanker wreck....seems they got the wrong trucking company name

the problems not the road, i have driven alot, and its flatter and faster then 93
the homeowners there will suddenly brake to turn into thier land, tourists will just stop in the road, huge rv's put and swerve and of course the ever present wildlife

ok ok and some of the commercial drivers run that road alittle fast, due to little local law enforcement

but the solution is not to ban big trucks, widen the road, straiten out some curves, add shoulders and turnouts..........but that would probaly piss of the locals....all that road work i mean
