The safety bone heads think that we can drive more hours a day with the current rules than the old ones.
Which in a perfect world is actually true.
If you have 100% drop and hook and no waiting at all for loads you can drive more under these rules.
Drive 11, rest 10, drive 11, rest 10 drive 11, rest 10 ect. Till out of driving time on 70, then take a 34 and repeat.
In a perfect world this is possible, but since we do not drive in a perfect world. We do not have 100% drop and hook and no delays. Also we have to log pretrip, fuel, load and unload ect, all at at least 15 min. This sucks up the hours also.
So there idea is fundamentally flawed. But they do not get it.

That's about as close as you can get to striking the traffic in your way like the fist of an angry god without having charges filed against you.

So you're saying the 10hr rule would actually be beneficial to us? You lost me.

No doubt!

I had a friend of mine one time meet me at the truckstop so we could run down south together. I had been running hard for 4 straight days with very little rest and while I was sitting at the TS waiting on him to show up I fell asleep still setting in the drivers seat. It's dusk and he gets there sees me sleeping and decides to wake me up ( what a friend lol ) he has train horns on his truck so he noses up to mine shines his brights on and lays on the train horns for a good 10 seconds! Needless to say I went from to to in about 5 seconds. He said he thought I was gonna jerk the steering wheel off the column and kick a whole in the floor. He still has payback coming though and you know what they say, payback is a mother!

Federal or state?

If State, the state law where they live or where the company is located?

If where the company is located, I foresee many moving to Mexico.
