If where the company is located, I foresee many moving to Mexico.
They'd have to get the mexican trucks thing passed then.

Not the way I put it.

If it is based on the rate where the corporation is located, and they move to Mexico, then we would get Mexican pay rates.

That is why I listed the questions. It has nothing to do with Mexican drivers or illegals.

Moving the company to mexico would make it a mexican trucking company. No mexican companies allowed up here. That's how I interpret the laws anyway. No doubt they'll be changed to screw us if that happens (like all other laws.)

Dodge makes trucks in Mexico. Is Dodge an American Corporation or Mexican?

I am only referring to moving the corporate headquarters to Mexico. It would not make it a Mexican trucking company.

Mexico is also only used because the wages are so low.

You could put the lowest paid state minimum wage into the story and see where it ends up too.

Gee, I dunno, is OTR trucking a manufacturing job? Name one single trucking company based in mexico that operates in the lower 48.

It doesn't even matter weather it's state or federal law anyway. Minimum wage is #### no matter what it's set at.

In some states, the wage is higher than the federal. I was only using this as an example of what MIGHT happen.

Now, if the driver is to be paid by the hour, it would get interesting to say the least.

Lowest they can find, duh!

Knight lost a bunch of good wrenches because they paid them "interstate" wages, claiming that even though they didn't cross state lines, they weren't due overtime.

The Chicago yard (Joliet) pays the guys $7.50 an hour to work on the truck. What a surprise that I have had nothing but issues with it!

What is dumb is how they have abused the interstate system so much that the government is going to step in...

....and really f things up.
