NTSB investigates Indianapolis tanker explosion

The crash and subsequent fire severely damaged the highway bridge used to carry traffic on I-465 over the access ramp.

The National Transportation Safety Board has launched a three-member team to investigate the Oct. 22 tanker truck explosion under an interstate bridge.

On Oct. 22at 10:30 a.m., a truck tractor in combination with a cargo tank loaded with liquid propane, rolled over while traveling southbound on Interstate 69 in Indianapolis.

The cargo tank was breached resulting in an explosion and post-crash fire.
