Man loses semi-truck and 5-year-old son at strip club

A man was arrested after police said he left his 5-year-old son in a tractor-trailer while he ducked into an Indianapolis strip club to drink. The 39-year-old was arrested at 1:15 a.m. Tuesday on child neglect and public intoxication charges after calling police to report his truck stolen and his child missing. Police said the man was too drunk to remember where he had parked.
They found the boy inside watching cartoons on a television inside the cab. The keys were in the ignition, and the doors were unlocked.
Police said the suspect put his son in jeopardy by leaving him exposed in a high crime area.
The man was taken to the Marion County jail, where his wife picked up him and the child.

Hopefully this will eliminate one more undesirable that calls himself a truck driver. The kid now needs to be with a mature adult for proper supervision and upbringing. I am just a little curious, was the dad showing the kid the proper way of parking or was he showing him the ropes in a strip club?

Dad left child in unlocked semi while in strip club

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A Franklin man is facing a preliminary child neglect charge after police say he left his 5-year-old son alone in his unlocked semi while he drank at an Indianapolis strip club.

According to police, when 39-year-old Donald Crawford came out of the club he couldn’t find his semi and reported it stolen at about 1:35 a.m. Tuesday.

Officers who responded to the 911 call said Crawford smelled of alcohol and describe his eyes as blood shot.

Police said Crawford was in his semi-truck with his son at about midnight, when he told police he decided to go to Sassy Kat's Show Club at 1539 South East Street.

The manager showed video of the man she said is Crawford walking in the strip club, getting a drink, then heading to the back of the club for three private lap dances.

I seen this on the news. God how embarassing. It's reports like this that damage our profession so badly. He looked, talked, and acted every bit the "####### truck driver" image that the public often percieves us as. Sigh...

I don't know what's better, the trucker, or the police admitting they have lost control of an area that they are paid to make safe.

Not going to defend the clown here, but well, ya know.

Who cares if it is a high crime area or in a hospital parking lot. The kid is 5 YEARS OLD!

I wouldn't leave my 5 yr old in the truck if I was parked on the fuel island and just went in to get my fuel ticket, especially with the keys in the ignition. Hope this scumbag loses his CDL for that.
