    Those two were hardcore riding coast to coast in that. Holy crap, if the driver was going to sneeze the guy in the bunk could hold the hanky for him.

    hmm you would definately have a lot of time to think while you drove--no radio no cb--no ac--louder and rougher than bull riding
    but if that is you knew --it was probabely hitech at the time---can you imagine in the bunk--you would be levitating half of the time

    There were a lot of innovative set-ups to try to sleep while moving... hammocks/big springs/beds that hung from springs in the cab roof, etc.
