From what I was told, all CDL drivers. But they are still working the system out.
What I want to know is, how is the system going to handle so many unemployed people asking for benefits? Unless they say that you cannot claim this being that you were let go due to your errors/faults?:biggrin_25521:

You hit it out of the park!
I've said it before but it needs to be said again! The ATA and the bottom feeder large companies do not want higher paid, experienced drivers! They THINK any monkey can be trained to drive a truck! Why have 1 experienced driver when, for the same money, they can have 2 rookies!

The only drivers that should worry about this new point system are the rookies and the pi** poor drivers driving trucks up and down the free way.

Some one made the comment that if you happen to get a nail in your tire you will be pulled over and this will affect your CDL, yes it will but how many times has this happen to you. In the last 31 years it has happen to me one time when I pulled into a scale with a flat.

If a driver is doing his job then what does he have to fear? Yea, if you are one of the drivers too lazy to do a pre and/or post trip then yes this will bit you in the butt but only because you allowed it to happen by being lazy, ignorant or poorly trained.

All of you that are whining and crying about the things that your company did to you or made you run illegal happened only because you allowed your self to be used like a cheap #####. It took me a few years to figure out that companies are using you to make money not because they like you. I do my job to make money and go home, not to be friends with the boss or a dispatcher. If I can't make money then I move on. Your being used because you allow it to happen.

The way I understand the new point system is that a company can improve their safety standing by getting rid of unsafe drivers. So in the case of the 6 drivers out of 100 is bad then the company can increase their standing by firing the unsafe drivers. Do we need unsafe drivers?

Wages are based on the driver pool available. If we decrease the driver pool then wages will go up and this applies to O/O rates as will. I hate to see anyone lose their job but if you fail to do your job in a safe manner then its your fault not the governments. I know most will blame the government for this failure so that they don't have to face them selves.

And as far as rookies go, I would rather drive team with a rookie then a so called I know it all experienced driver which has maybe two years of driving. Rookies are more caution, wants to do their job safely and has not fallen into the trap of trying to be their dispatchers hero. How big of a suck up are you when you risk getting tickets for speeding, log book and over weights to please your dispatcher or boss?

I think that they should give points if you can not show prove of taking a shower in the last week as will. Prove could be that you don't stink or look like a homeless person.

If we all were doing our job like we should have been doing it then this would never have happen.

My self I'm looking forward to more professional drivers being out here on the road. If your not man enough to do the job then stay at home and stop whining.

I hate to say this but I will.In the last post the driver had spelling errors.I heard of a driver getting points for mispelling the starting point on his log,so if you feel that you are not going to get whacked for petty things like that, think again.
Rookies, experienced drivers, company drivers and o/o's, are now ---ROLLING TARGETS----.
And yes,if you get pulled into a weigh station for inspection and do not look right,clean/sober/awake....you are inviting yourself to be put under the microscope and creamed.
I want to see how the 100%'s do.Yes, rookies are more cautious, but make other errors that will decide their future in the industry.:biggrin_2556:

I wish I had the cajones to say what you just said. Actually, I do, but it just sounds so much more convincing coming from 30 years of experience. Any other old hands feel this way?:biggrin_25514:
