This message is for all truckers including owner operators - truck companies- and most importantly every company driver in the united states we all have to agree on one subject none of us are making enough money to invest in new equipment companies are going broke and company drivers are being forced to work in very bad situations can't get enough miles idling the truck and being forced to freeze etc. Everyone has seen what is going on in egypt the internet has helped people start a peaceful revolt .. The people in this country have no idea what is going on in the trucking industry. We live in the time of the me now revolution you people young and old veteran drivers and newbies we as truckers are equal and have more power to get what we want than any other industry in the world . So you might lose your house if you lose your job or how will I, feed my family if the trucks shutdown for 30 days the fear of losing is what the us government wants us to believe including the big oil fat cats . I dieselsmoke343 am calling for everyone to stand together and say we demand mister obama a temporary exemption on all fuel taxes and for a regulated rate schedule for all non exempt commodities drivers it is time for all of us to stand together and why not just look around and then say to yourself how much worse can it get cause if you drivers can't wake up and stand united as one it will not be long we will all be out of work or working for alot less than we are now wake up drivers we are running out of time we have the right to strike and don.t worry about job loss the companies need us drivers a whole lot more than we need them and just remember drivers the fat cats are only getting more powerful day by day because all of us are concerned only about ourselves and nobody else it is time for all of us to change the way we think for the betterment of all truckers think about this, no more arguements with each other we have to unite and getRdone...

I like your spirit and hope some will stand for something someday but ultimately I fear none will agree to stand on this date... For tomorrow should be close enough to say "enough is enough" and demand changes.

i parked my truck in protest 2 years ago, lost it, 2 new pick ups and an 800 credit rateing.

all the while, i watched trucking companies and owner operators alike cut each others throats for already too cheap frieght.

good luck with the strike, i hope it works, doubt it will.

The good part is we really could shut the country down and make them take notice, the sad part is too many live paycheck to paycheck and you'll never find a large enough group to stand together on this...The reality is, you don't need everyone, just tanker drivers, cut off the fuel supply and the country grinds to a halt but it would have to be for more than one day...

If we only had an organization that really looked out for us....If I didn't hate unions so much, I'd say we need to all join one...

    we do.

    it's called OOIDA!

look into it. they just won a big lawsuit against the state of minnesota over their fatigued driver check list.

they won a suit against england and landstar that put stolen money back into the right pockets.

they do fight for all of us out here, not just o/o and independants but company drivers too.

good luck on getting anyone to stand beside you in this.. I seen the big 105kmph law in ontario get a lot of ppl willing to take a stand when the time came not even 10 % of them showed up.

it would take 3 days to totaly shut down everything. last big food wherehouse said if they didnt have any trucks for 3 days they would be empty not a single item left to ship out. Gas stations get fuel every 2-3 days trush stops probly every 4/6 hours. shuting down the tankers for 3 days would be the best start no fuel means no trucks and cars moving very far. maybe one day when people start living with in there means and have a few bucks in the b ank not living paycheck to paycheck this will happen but until then its only going to get worse, lower pay less miles and small outfits closing doors.
