But what would really happen if it all went down on a precise time in multi states. Or as was posted just blockcade up a few DC Centers, shipper or recievers

I would have to agree with Witchinghour; cohesion or the lack of is the main reason change will not occur. What we need is cohesion, commitment and collective thoughts unified for one goal; even if it is only for one day! No we may never have the unification needed but its always worth a try.

It should be an Independence Day for truckers. I would love to see that on July 4th, every truck pulling over on the side of the road at 12:01 am and not moving until 12:01am the next day with as many drivers showing up in DC as possible. Of course its only a thought but in order to change something, more people need to fight for what they believe in!

ok let me ask this. If i got enough of you guys to walk with me before all these new laws kick in would you??? Im not talking bout blocking up traffic with our trucks im talking about taking it to them on our LEVEL not theirs. Im not afraid to go to jail for protesting something i believe in. Im willing to stick my rear out there for all drivers and our familys. FMCSA wants to hear what we have to say so lets Tell them what we really think.

Well, the difference compared to 1975 is that we all have facebook, tweeter, social media and we can spread the word fast in codes! Thats the difference and yes it can be done. Just think outside the box!

Lets get this organized. Even though DC sets the rule, I think a state capital march organized on the same date and time would be more feasable for drivers to get to. If we march on all 50 statehouses we will be heard. Easier for drivers to get to their state capitals than to DC The message will be twofold. We have the numbers, and if the drivers are marching, we wont be hauling freight that day.

I try to go on strike every year, for about 72 hours or so in early June. It is a great time of year to go fishing.

Funny part is, you don't need everyone to strike.... just fuel tankers... no fuel, no roll....

Driver of the Year- Good point-I remember Mike Parkhurst and the 1975 thing, I had been an O/O for 3 years (in Alaska) by then and the only real news we got was from Overdrive Magazine (don't know if it is still published).
